Jan 22, 2009 (newstodate): In December, 2008, airBaltic's share of the cargo and mail volumes through Latvia's Riga Airport hit an all-time high.
The carrier's market share in December was 61 percent, compared to 54 in November and 51 in October.
No other carrier displayed two-digit percentages in market shares, with European Air Transport, operating for DHL, scoring eight percent allowing for a No 2 rating.
Aeroflot, Avion Express and CSA each took five percent of the market, followed by Lufthansa and Spring Air, each with four percent of the market.
In December, Riga Airport's cargo and mail increased slightly by 1.2 percent, y-o-y, to 767 tonnes including 454 tonnes of imports and 313 tonnes of exports.
For the full year, the airport generated a total of 7,668 tones, down 5.7 percent, y-o-y.
