Sep 19, 2008 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is seeing brisk prospects after the completion of the ongoing construction works for new cargo terminals.
Within the coming six months, construction by NAP of a new 5,600 sq m cargo terminal for SAS Cargo's handling arm Spirit will be completed, allowing for fresh developments.
-The new terminal will allow Spirit to expand its business after years of constraints in the old, inadequate premises, says an airport spokesperson.
The airport is also now investigating the possibilities for upgrading its runway from currently CAT II to CAT III status, which would further enhance operational safety and boost its competitive power.
