Sep 10, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier S7 Sibir Airlines sees bright prospects in a close cooperation with Austrian Airlines.
S7 has presented a business model for cooperation between the two airlines, with S7 focussing all Russian traffic at Moscow Domodedovo Airport for transportation jointly with Austrian Airlines to Vienna Airport, and from there transferred into Austrian's European route network, and v.v.
At a recent press conference in Vienna, Vladislav Filev, S7 CEO, said the airline expected to see around three million passengers annually by 2012 within this transport system between the two hubs.
In 2007, Russia generated about 21 mio international passengers - a volume estimated to increase to more than 40 mio by 2012.
S7 is reportedly participating in the current tender process for Austrian Airlines.
