Sep 4, 2008 (newstodate): Macedonia is planning for a new cargo-dedicated airport in the country's eastern part, near Stip.
Winner of the recent Macedonian airport concesssions tender, TAV is required to take on the responsibility for construction of the new airport, including runway, a passenger terminal, two cargo handling facilities for imports and exports, and two aircraft hangars.
The coming Stip Airport will be designed to handle the agricultural exports from Macedonia's producers in the region.
EBRD is expected to support the project with financial loans and investments.
