Sep 30, 2008 (newstodate): Celebrating its 15 years anniversary, LatCharter Airlines has announced a change of name to SmartLynx.
SmartLynx, 100 percent owned by the Icelandair Group, currently has 10 Airbus A320 and Boeing 767 aircraft in its fleet on charter and ACMI operations worldwide.
The carrier is Latvia's second largest airline in terms of turn-over and has grown in two years from a fleet comprising only two aircraft.
Riga-based SmartLynx President and CEO is Gardar Forberg.
