Sep 26, 2008 (newstodate): Low seasonal loads cause Latvia's airBaltic to suspend services at Liepaja Airport during the coming winter program till March 28, 2009.
Flights from Liepaja to Copenhagen and Hamburg will be continued until October 18, while flights on the domestic route from Liepaja to Riga will be suspended after October 1, 2008, already.
Liepaja Airport, originally built for military purposes, was transferred to civil authority in 1960 and is now part of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone.
airBaltic opened the domestic route on September 5, 2005, bringing domestic flights back to Latvia with four weekly flights.
