Sep 8, 2008 (newstodate): Iran has aired plans for a major modernisation of its civil aviation system.
In the plan is the renovation of the airports at Ahvaz, Birjand, Hamedan, Khoy, Sanandaj, Lamard, Tabriz, and Yazd.
Iran is reportedly also considering to start three new international airlines in 2009.
