Sep 24, 2008 (newstodate): The global crisis resulting from high oil prices and declining traffic is hitting India's aviation businesses hard.
-Growth has slowed from 33 percent in 2007 to 7.5 percent for the first six months of this year, and the last two months have been negative, says Giovanni Bisignani, IATA Director General and CEO.
Addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry, Bisignani identified needs for reducing costs, improving infrastructure, and adopting global standards as the three priority areas for the Indian aviation industry.
