Sep 9, 2008 (newstodate): Hungary's FlyBalaton International Airport has been granted status as a permanent EU customs airport.
The airport has seen increasing volumes of non-EU cargo loads that has so far been handled on a temporary customs control basis.
-FlyBalaton is uncongested, is highly flexible and price-efficient and will increasingly become a viable alternative to cargo handling at other airports at Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb or Vienna, all only some two hours trucking time away, says Lajos Palko, FlyBalaton Airport marketing director.
