Sep 9, 2008 (newstodate): Finnair continued its air cargo growth, increasing total volumes by four percent y-o-y in August, 2008.
The carrier handled a total of 8,790 tonnes of cargo, comprising 6,078 tonnes of freight on its Asian lanes that grew by 17 percent.
Volumes on all other segments were down, including the North Atlantic traffic where loads fell 14.3 percent, y-o-y, to 683 tonnes.
Including the August volumes, total tonnages in 2008 now stand at 69,577 tonnes, an increase by 12.7 percent, again solely driven by Asian cargo that was up 29.5 percent, y-o-y, to 46,466 tonnes.
