Sep 17, 2008 (newstodate): Finland and Japan have negoatiated a new bi-lateral air services agreement, allowing for more capacity on routes between the two countries.
The new agreement allows Finland to operate up to 10 weekly flights between Helsinki and Osaka and seven weekly flights to Nagoya.
Finland will also be allowed to operate daily flights into Tokyo Narita Airport by 2010.
Japanese carriers will be allowed to operate up to 21 weekly flights into Helsinki, increasing to 24 weekly flights from 2010.
During this summer's schedule, Finnair has operated a total of 15 weekly flights to Japan, including four weekly flights to Tokyo and Nagoya, respective, as well as daily flights to Osaka, all in code-share with Japan Air Lines.
