Aug 25, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero saw its cargo volumes rising during January-July, 2008.
The carrier handled a total of 11,738 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 37 percent, y-o-y.
Transaero also upped its passenger volumes during the period, 2.7 mio passengers, an increase by 57 percent.
In the fleet of the privately-owned Transaero are now one Boeing 777, 10 Boeing 747, 11 Boeing 767 and 15 Boeing 737 aircraft.
In 2005, Transaero was first to introduce the Boeing 747 in Russia, and in 2008 also became Russia's first operator of the Boeing 777 aicraft.
