Aug 14, 2008 (newstodate): Stockholm Skavsta Airport intends to intensify its markering efforts to attract more cargo traffic.
The airport's cargo volumes have remained rather stable around 15,000 tonnes of cargo during the last three years, and expectations are that the year 2008 will end along similar lines.
-We have no scheduled cargo operators but a fair volume of cargo charter operations, although were a probably slightly below last year's levels in number of charter flights, says Dag Berlov, Stockholm Skavsta Airport cargo manager.
-Besides the terminal facilities here, our prime assets include a high degreee of flexibility in operations, short lead-times in cargo handling, a finely-tuned network of trucking services, and a one-stop shopping concept collecting all charges and costs into just one invoice.
-We have probably been keeping too low during the recent transitional phase, but intentions are to strengthen our marketing efforts and presence at the world's important cargo events, says Mr Berglov.
