Aug 22, 2008 (newstodate): The Slovenian carrier Adria Airways, member of the Star Alliance, reports a sound increase in cargo volumes during January-July, 2008.
Total cargo volumes increased by eight percent, y-o-y, during the period, reaching 1,364 tonnes.
The growth was especially strong in July when the airline lifted a total of 226 tonnes, up 47 percent, y-o-y.
Till last Autumn, the carrier still had ambitions to upgrade its cargo business, including acquiring jet freighter capacity, but the strategy was reversed and an over-all strengthening of the focus on passenger transporation was announced.
