Aug 27, 2008 (newstodate): Russia's Ufa International Airport in the Republic of Bashkortostan will focus on increasing its cargo volumes.
The airport has the capacity to handle freighers of any size including the AN-124 and Boeing 747, but still sees its cargo volumes remaining at low leves.
The airport's management will now attempt to attract the cargo industry's attention in order to seek funding of construction of new cargo facilities and infrastructure.
The airport has been shortlisted to remain among Russia's airport certified for international traffic.
