Aug 6, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot-Nord has contracted Lufthansa Systems to implement its ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt system.
Under a five-year contract, the system will assist Aeroflot-Nord in optimising its revenue management processes to recognize market opportunities at an early stage and to react faster to market changes than its competitors.
The airline, headquartered in Arkhangelsk Talagi Airport in North Russia, was established under the name Arkhangelsk United Aviation Squadron in 1963, acquired by Aeroflot (51 percent) in 2004 and renamed Aeroflot-Nord.
Aeroflot-Nord plans to build a fleet of 20 Boeing 737 aircraft by 2010, replacing the Soviet-built aircraft currently in the fleet that also comprises 16 Boeing 737 aircraft.
