Aug 26, 2008 (newstodate): Plans for the opening of a new logistics center in Iceland's capital Reykjavik have again been delayed.
Originally slated to be opened in 2009 and fully completed in 2010, the center will now reportedly be completed only in 2016, with construction works on the first phase of the center to start only in 2010.
The future logistics center will be located on parts of the premises of Reykjavik Airport in the middle of the city, serving Iceland's domestic air flights, trans-Atlantic commercial aircraftferry flights, and VIP and corporate flights.
The future of Reykjavik Airport remains a hot political issue in Iceland as the current urban planning period that allows for air traffic expires in 2016.
