Aug 11, 2008 (newstodate): In July, Latvia's Riga Airport saw a turn in the otherwise negative trend in cargo volumes through 2008.
In July the airport handled a total of 648 tonnes of cargo, up 6.2 percent, y-o-y, following on a rise by 3.6 percent to 577 tonnes in June, 2008.
By the end of July, this year's total volumes were 4,230 tonnes, a 11.7 percent decline compares to same period last year.
50 percent of the volumes in July were handled by airBaltic, 11 percent by EuropeanAir Transport N.V., five percent by Lufthansa, and only one percent by SAS.
