Aug 12, 2008 (newstodate): Taking effect from September 2, 2008, Korean Air plans to add Uzbekistan to its network of destinations.
The carrier will operate between Seoul and Tashkent with three weekly flights, using Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the route.
Korean Air is already working closely with Uzbekistan, cooperating with the Uzbek government on a project to develop Navoi International Airport into a logistics hub of Central Asia.
From August 27, Korean Air Cargo will add a stop at Navoi Airport on the freighter flight from Incheon to Milano, Italy.
Korean Air will also sponsor Uzbekistan Airways' entry into the SkyTeam alliance by 2008 or 2009
