Aug 5, 2008 (newstodate): Based at Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways plans to open a new route to Central Asia.
With effect from December 2, 2008, Atihad will operate four weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Almaty, Kazakhstan, using Airbus A319 aircraft on the route.
The two oil and gas producing countries already share a growing trade that is increasing also the demand for air travel.
