Aug 4, 2008 (newstodate): flyLAL Lithuanian Airlines has named Airline Services GSA, the pan-Nordic cargo GSSA, as its GSA in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
flyLAL launched thrice-weekly services from Stockholm to Vilnius in June, 2008, and Airline Services GSA will focus its initial efforts on cargo from the Swedish market.
Later this year the company plans to introduce express road feeders to transfer cargo onto these flights from Norway and Finland.
Cargo capacity is currently constrained by the airlines use of Saab 2000 aircraft, but it plans to phase in its larger B737 aircraft as soon as the route is established.
A subsidiary of Finland's Airline Services, Airline Services GSA expects most interest in flyLAL's services to its home base Vilnius, and beyond to Tallinn, Riga, Moscow, Kiev in Ukraine, Tiblisi in Georgia, Minsk in Belorusia, and Larnaca in Cyprus.
Airline Services GSA represents a total of 10 airlines across its three offices in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and is the exclusive member of the EGSAC GSSA network in all three countries.
