Aug 18, 2008 (newstodate): While Beijing was Finland's leading IATA export cargo destination in June, cargo rates on the flights dipped low.
Beijing generated 426 tonnes of IATA export cargo from Finland, rising 8.8 percent, y-o-y, in volume but decreasing 23.7 percent in average rate, down to 0.65 USD.
Finland's #2 IATA cargo destination in June, Shanghai fared little better, down 3.2 percent in volumes, 364 tonnes, and 13.5 percent down on average rate, to 0.66 USD.
Hong Kong, #3 on the list in June, decreased 25.6 percent in volume, to 247 tonnes, but increased by 2.8 percent in average rate, to 0.62 USD.
Chennai, India, fared best in rates increase, up 46 percent to 1.33 USD, but dipped 47.5 percent in involume, to 56 tonnes.
Singapore, #8, generated a total of 76 tonnes of IATA cargo, dipping 47.4 percent in tonnage, but saw cargo rates increasing by 29.8 percent to 1.49 USD on an average.
