Aug 6, 2008 (newstodate): The Austrian government has decided to fully privatise ailing national carrier Austrian Airlines.
A precondition is that not less than 25 percent of the shares remain in Austrian hands.
The Austrian state is currently holding 42.75 percent of the shares.
While Lufthansa is generally considered to be in a favorarable position to bid on the airline, while Aeroflot, earlier also in the picture, has said it will not participate.
Other airlines that have reportedly showed interest in taking a share in Austrian Airlines include Air China, Air France, Royal Jordanian and Emirates.
