Jul 3, 2008 (newstodate): A decision has now been secured to update Ukraine's Kharkiv International Airport.
The airport, with a 2,220 m runway, will have a new passenger terminal and other infrastructure, with the design og engineering works to be supervised by the German company Airport Research Center.
When completed in 2012, the projects will advance the airport from Class B to Class A, allowing for long-haul international flight operations.
The airport will retain its state ownership, but a management contract will be awarded to a private party following a tender process.
