Jun 3, 2008 (newstodate): With effect from June 2, American Airlines has launched its new service between Chicago and Moscow.
The carrier now operates six times weekly into Moscow Domodedovo Airport, using Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the route.
The new route is the first direct route between Moscow and Chicago, and is also the oneworld carrier's first route to Russia.
Later this year, on October 26, another US carrier, Star Alliance-member United Airlines plans to launch a service to Russia, operating daily between Washnington and Moscow Domodedovo Airport with Boeing 767 aircraft.
