Jun 26, 2008 (newstodate): Russia's Vladivostok International Airport has announced plans for construction of a new passenger terminal and infrastructure.
The new terminal is planned to be opened in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, to be held at Vladivostok in 2010.
Domestic and foreign investors are now being approached, and a tender will be opened when the on-going technical appraisals have been completed.
Also in the plans is the extension of the airport's shorter runway, now 2,500 m.
The airport's second runway is 3,500 m.
At the start of 2008, the airport completed its separation from the group that earlier also comprised the carrier Vladivostok Avia.
