Jun 13, 2008 (newstodate): The carrier Atlant-Soyuz Airlines, owned by the Moscow Government, has embarked on a strategy to gradually phase out its fleet of IL-86 aircraft.
The carrier's eight IL-86 will be replaced by 12-15 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with the first three IL-86 aircraft to go in February-March, 2009.
Atlant-Soyuz Airlines plans to have its future Boeing 737-800 fleet in place by 2011, and so far six aircraft have been ordered.
