Jun 27, 2008 (newstodate): Plans for modernisation and expansion of Gelendzhik Airport, in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, are being down-scaled.
In the current plans, the new 10,000 sq m passenger terminal is designed to handle 600 passengers per hour, which is now seen as above market needs.
The design of the new terminal will thus be reduced by some 30 percent in order to arrive at a more cost-efficient solution.
Gelendzhik Airport will have one 3,100 m runway with approach from the Black Sea, and besides passsenger traffic cargo operations are envisaged as well.
