Jun 9, 2008 (newstodate): Russia's current annual total of air cargo is 640,000 tonnes, according to the country's largest freight carrier, Volga-Dnepr.
The carrier also sees potentials for the annual total to grow as high as seven million tonnes by 2020, but this will depend on the emergence of a strong infrastructure with large cargo hubs, such as Krasnoyarsk International Airport.
According to figures from Aeroflot Cargo, the world air cargo market now grows by 6.1 percent annually, while the Russian air cargo market is growing by 12 percent annually, well above the country's GDP growth by 8.3 percent.
Russia's share of the world air cargo market is now some 1.5 percent
