Jun 23, 2008 (newstodate): Fierce competition in ground handling services at Copenhagen Airport, Denmark, has squeezed one provider out of business.
Swedish-owned Nordic Aero has filed for protection and suspended payments, leaving the market to the remaining providers SAS Ground Services, Novia and Menzies.
The battle is now on for Nordic Aero's airline customers, with KLM/Air France already taken over by Novia after having switched from Novia to Nordic Aero only since April 1, 2008.
Nordic Aero's operations in Sweden, Norway and Finland will not be affected and will remain with business as usual, the company says.
