Jun 26, 2008 (newstodate): With Iceland, Denmark, and Norway among the 11 new markets to participate in IATA's e-freight program, Scandinavia is now fully represented in the process.
Sweden was selected to participate in 2007, already, and a timetable for the remaining Scandinavian markets' e-freight process is now on the table.
-Iceland has been slated to start its e-freight process from early 2009; in Norway the process has already been launched and is well underway, while a decision has been made to wait till August, 2008, to launch the process in Denmark in order not to conflict with the upcoming holiday period, says Ulla Nilson, IATA CASS Nordic manager.
According to Ms Nilson, hopes are to include Finland in the process as well, with the second half of 2009 as a realistic target for launch of the process.
