Jun 23, 2008 (newstodate): Plans for the manufacturing of a new freighter, the Freight Feeder Aircraft have gained momentum with the firm order for five FF5000, and options for a further five aircraft.
The order comes from the Singapore-based Boulder Group PTE Ltd that will operate the aircraft on a route network in Indonesia.
The first FF5000 is planned to complete assembly by early 2009, in preparation for its certification process and deliveries starting from 2011.
The aircraft will be a container-capable regional turboprop-aircraft, specifically designed to economically transport containerised and palletised shipments to and from regional manufacturing and freight distribution facilities located in smaller communities to and from the major international hub airports.
