Jun 10, 2008 (newstodate): Finnair's air cargo volumes continued to rise in May, 2008.
The carrier recorded a 13.2 percent increase in total volumes carried, to 9,004 tonnes.
Asian traffic volumes continued to soar, up 24 percent to 5,797 tonnes, but growth was also seen in the North Atlantic traffic, up 20.3 tonnes to 691 tonnes, and in Europe, increasing 4.2 percent to 1,831 tonnes.
Scheduled cargo charter volumes continued to drop, down 42.5 percent, y-o-y, to 368 tonnes in May.
The over-all capacity, however, outstripped sales, forcing the load catfor down 3.9 ppt to 62.9 percent.
