Jun 30, 2008 (newstodate): After much controversy with the airport authorities of Lithuania, Lithuanian carrier flyLAL now seems confident about plans realising its plans for an own terminal at the airport.
The carrier has long aired its plans to invest in an own terminal at Vilnius International Airport, but so far the authorities refused to grant its permission.
Lithuania's government has now reportedly agreed to allow FlyLAL to build a 45 mio USD passenger terminal at Vilnius airport by developing land already owned by the company, next to the existing airport.
Once the go-ahead has been formalised, the construction of the new terminal will require a 12-month period before launching operations.
