Jun 30, 2008 (newstodate): The privatisation of Serbia's national carrier, JAT will attract much attention among European and other airlines.
The carrier aims at becoming a regional leader after the privatisation, due to open by july 15, 2008, after many postponements due to change of governments and pertinent political issues.
Aeroflot has early announced its strong interest in taking over the Serbian carrier, but several other carriers including Air One, Air India and Icelandair have reportedly also signed letters of intent with the Serbian privatisation agency.
