Jun 17, 2008 (newstodate): Having obtained its AOC, the Chechen carrier Grozny Avia has launched own flights on the route to Moscow, formerly served by chartered aircraft from other carriers.
The state-owned carrier, headed by Alik Zulgayev as general director, now operates two YAK-42 aircraft, based at Grozny Airport that was re-opened on March 8, 2008, with a flights to Moscow by Aeroflot-Don.
The airport has one 2,400 m runway and is managed by the company Vainakhavia.
