Jun 9, 2008 (newstodate): The Czech airline Travel Service Airlines will become among the first European airlines to operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Under Boeing's recently adjusted delivery program the carrier will receive one Boeing 787 by the second half of 2013, adding to its current fleet of 10 Boeing 737 aircraft.
Travel Service Airlines is owned 50 percent by the Icelandair Group that was the first European airline to order to Dreamliner.
As the carrier is now re-thinking its aircraft fleet strategy, a decision has been made to place the first of four Boeing 787 aircraft ordered with the Czech subsidiary, while the fate of the remaining three aircraft is still being evaluated.
They will, though, probably be put on lease or sales contracts as the airline reins in on its investment program.
