Jun 12, 2008 (newstodate): China has overtaken Japan as Norway's single largest market for exports of fresh salmon.
The change occured since Q1, 2007, when Japan still accounted for 29 percent, with China at 24 percent.
According to IATA CASS export cargo figures for the first three months of 2008, China generated a total of 5,309 tonnes of cargo, up 13.5 percent, y-o-y, while Japan received 4,191 tonnes of cargo, down 26.7 percent, y-o-y.
Third on the Norwegian list of IATA export airfreight markets was Southeast Asia, generating 2,306 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 10.2 percent, y-o-y.
