Jun 4, 2008 (newstodate): Bulgaria's Chimimport has emerged as the winner of the tender to modernise Kazan International Airport, Russia.
The tender was opened in September, 2007, comprising management consultancy and reconstruction of Kazan International Airport.
The reconstruction is planned to be completed by 2012, with the airport's annual passenger throughput to be increased 10-fold to reach 4.5 mio passengers, the airport area expanded, and new passenger facilities constructed.
Chimimport and Tatarstan's government will co-finance the projects that also includes modernisation of Tatarstan airline Aviakompania Tatarstan's aircraft fleet.
