Jun 12, 2008 (newstodate): With effect from June 16, 2008, the Armenian carrier Armavia plans to launch flights on a new route between Armenia and Russia.
Using Airbus A319 aircraft, the carrier will offer daily flights between Yerevan Zvartnots Airport and Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
On May 23, 2008, Armavia received its second Airbus A320 aircraft on a lease contract, and a third Airbus A320 Family aircraft will be delivered in March, 2009.
The carrier now operates two Airbus A319 aircraft, with order for a third unit.
