Jun 16, 2008 (newstodate): In May, 2008, Bulgaria's Sofia Airport saw its cargo volumes up by seven percent, y-o-y.
The airport handled a total of 1,627 tonnes of cargo and mail, against 1,525 tonnes in May, 2007.
Passenger volumes increased by 26 percent, and aircraft movements were up 15 percent, but much of the increase in traffic was generated by LCCs that do not carry cargo.
