May 23, 2008 (newstodate): By October 1, 2009, Swedish cargo handling company ASP Logistic is moving into a new airside cargo terminal to be constructed at Stockholm Arlanda Airport's cargo area.
With the 5,700 sq m terminal, built by NAP and rented by ASP Logistics, the company expects to increase its total annual export cargo volumes from today's 36,000 tonnes to some 60,000 tonnes, hiring some 20 new staff in addition to the 34 currently employed.
-We break and build pallets, and deliver and pick up air cargo directly on the apron, says Lars Brannstrom, ASP Logistic AB managing director.
The company's volumes are mainly Ericsson shipments on chartered aircraft, notably Martinair Cargo and KLM/AF Cargo, but shipments are also transported on scheduled SAS and Finnair aircraft from Stockholm Arlanda.
The new terminal will become the sixth cargo facility at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
