May 22, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot-Don, based at Rostov-on-Don, has received its 7th Boeing 737 aircraft.
The Boeing 737-500 will be operated on a five-year lease contract with Australia's Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management.
In 2007, the carrier's passenger volume increased by 62.7 percent to 956,778 passengers, while cargo volumes were down 15 percent to 1,869 tonnes, and mail volumes fell 22 percent to 104 tonnes.
The declining loads are attributed to the lower cargo capacity of the Boeing 737-500 aircraft, compared to the TU-154 earlier used.
