May 9, 2008 (newstodate): Russia's Rostov-on-Don Airport experienced a healthy growth in air cargo volumes during the first four months of 2008.
The airport handled a total of 1,441 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 30.2 percent.
The growth was especially driven by a 30.9 increase in international cargo, to 352 tonnes.
Domestic cargo also increased, up 30 percent to 1,089 tonnes.
Among the top cargo destinations at Rostov-on-Don Airport were Yerevan, Tashkent, and Istanbul.
In April, 2008, cargo volumes were 454 tonnes, up 18.5 percent, y-o-y.
