May 15, 2008 (newstodate): A new cargo terminal and logistics center will be built at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, planned for inauguration in 2009.
Behind the project are Sheremetyevo Airport and TransGroup AC, Russia's leading railway operator.
In the first phase, the parties will construct a 10,000 sq m facility for handling of air cargo, and plans for expansion by another 10,000 sq m are being prepared for completion by 2011.
The new facility will be connected to road and rail networks, and will become the largest air cargo facility in Moscow.
