May 16, 2008 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo remains upbeat about prospects for further growth in the Danish IATA air cargo market.
-The Danish IATA airfreight market grew by 10-11 percent during this year's Q1, and Lufthansa Cargo's share of the market grew even more, says Kay Wichmann, Lufthansa Cargo Nordics general manager.
-In 2007 the Danish IATA market grew by 15.8 percent, outperforming the other Nordic markets, and we certainly also increased our position above the average growth.
-In contrast to other Nordic markets that are either dominated by few, very large accounts or by few important export commodities, Denmark is a very fragmented market with many small and medium-sized exporting companies within a broad range of export products.
-Competition is as strong in the Danish market as elsewhere in the region, but the flow of Danish exports is very varied and distributed towards a wide selection of destinations in many countries, so each commpetitor has his own strengths and weaknesses, says Mr Wichmann
