The new 7,300 sq m terminal is designed to handle up to 800,000 passengers a year and the old terminal reached its limits in 2006 as the annual passenger volume increased from 27,000 in 2004 to 391,000.
The airport's single largest operator is Ryanair that operates routes to Ireland and the UK as well as to Frankfurt Hahn.
