May 9, 2008 (newstodate): Plans are on the table for construction of Logistics City Tbilisi - a project driven by the Georgian govenment and the aircraft manufacturing company TAM.
The logistics center will be constructed near the TAM airport, and only three km from Tblisi International Airport, and will comprise 217 ha in its first phase, later to be expanded by another 89 ha for warehouses, offices, and distribution facilities.
The Logistics City Tblisi will be connected to Georgia's railway system, and to the ports of Baku and Poti.
The project is estimated to require investments of some 150 mio USD.
