May 9, 2008 (newstodate): With sustained air cargo growth, April 2008 was "business as usual" for Finnair Cargo.
In April, the carrier's total cargo volumes increased by 15.8 percent to 8,837 tonnes, as always driven by a 30.8 percent growth in its Asian volumes at 5,693 tonnes.
For January-April, statistics show an increase by 15.9 percent, to 34,004 tonnes, with Asian cargo loads up 34.78 percent to 22,162 tonnes.
Also on the rise was the carrier's North Atlantic cargo that increased 15 percent in April, to 644 tonnes, and by 4.8 percent in January-April, to 2,207 tonnes.
