May 20, 2008 (newstodate): Starting on May 19, 2008, the Greek carrier Aegean Airlines has launched flights between Athens and Tirana International Airport.
Using Avro RJ-100 aircraft, the carrier will operate six weekly flights on the new route.
The start of operations by Aegean Airlines brings the number of airlines operating at Tirana International Airport to thirteen, and the number of destinations by direct flight to 33.
